Music on the Bamboo Radio

In this book there are 3 main characters Nicholas Holford Ah Kwan and Ah Mee they are on a quest to escape from the Japanese but then in the middle of their adventure they discover something which sidetracks their whole adventure  they have to smuggle information to British troops in prisoner-of-war camps this is known as playing music on the bamboo radio and they discover what is happening in the camps.

I feel that Nicholas is a courageous boy because he does stuff other kids his age usually don't do, Ah Kwan is also brave because he stood up to some Japanese commanders and also fights in the war so he is quite brave and Ah Mee is very caring to her husband she will give up anything to save her husband for example when Ah Kwan catches malaria she went to the doctors and asked for some Quinine the doctor asked her to give some thing to pay she was willing to offer gold, silver and jade just to save he husbands life.

The significant events in this book were the Japanese used to go door knocking to check on the citizens why it is significant is because that is what actually happened. A second significant thing was the outbreak of malaria. During the Japanese occupation malaria was carried to Hong Kong by Japanese. Finally the third significant event was in the olden times at the doctors the women wouldn't like the doctor touching them so there is a statue of a women so the so they could tell the doctors where they are ill.
